Police found the dead body of a college student from a waterbody in Shahrasti upazila of Chandpur today, 18 days after he went missing.
The deceased Riman Hossain Joni (18), son of local journalist Jashim Uddin, was a second year college student of Shuchipara Degree College.
According to locals and police, workers found the floating body in the waterbody when they were working there. Later, they informed the police.
On information, police recovered the decomposed body.
Victim’s younger sister Risnat Jahan Jhumur identified the body after seeing the wallet and a photo of her mother recovered from the pocket of the victim, said the OC.
Police sent the body to a hospital for autopsy.
Riman went missing on November 2. Failing to trace him, his father filed a missing diary with Shahrasti Police Station on November 18.
